You might be getting a bit too much data now, but to add a bit more. On Eagle lake, I have had best luck fishing from talus rock pile side of the lake as it is deeper water. I used rooster tail 3/16 oz brown with gold swing later in season and red with silver swing earlier in season. Both seem to work well. As mentioned, Boiling lake is swampy around the edges and harder to fish. I waded out to the edge of the weeds to fish and the fish are rather smallish-but still fun to catch. The hike up to Boiling is just an uphill slog on a well maintained bike trail. Can be very busy if you happen to hit it at the right time…..or alternatively, it can be a nice ride if you are on a bike. This is a very fun hike, especially in the fall when the larch turn color. I have been using one for two seasons-Fish Hunter Pro. Walmart has special on them right now for about $150, I paid more at Sportsman Warehouse. I have not been doing any mapping. I has been using to look for fish, depth, temperature, locating underwater structure and bottom depth changes. Can not say that it is helping catch fish, but fun to play with. Unit has short battery life, maybe 4 hours, so I carry solar panel and goal zero recharge battery to fill it up when not on the water. My app is on smart phone LG4 and it has good screen back lite so display is pretty good. Weight of fish finder package is 10 oz, solar panel is 16 oz and solar battery is 5 oz. So about 2 pounds for complete set up. Already carry phone for pictures, etc so did not include that as additional weight. I have not tried casting it from shore as is promoted on website. Seems way to heavy for my light rod, plus you need to dedicate separate pole to pull it back in after casting. Cheers, Jim
We hiked/fished Dorothy over to Snoqualmie and back last summer. Lots of people get as far as Dorothy and turn around there. Less people as you go over the top. Road is usually in poor condition, the worse the road, the less the people. Weather was hot and windy all days, and even from raft, could not catch anything. There are fish in all the lakes, but catching was really slow in the hot weather. Looking back, I would have stayed away from inlets (thinking in would be cool water) and fished much deeper. These are low elevation lakes and warm up pretty good–great for swimming. So many lakes……….Cheers.
