Id like to get in on this. Im in Marysville. Im a bass fisher mainly, but I like to get the out of the way spots for some trouties.
All my biggest fish came on rainy days. Bass and trout. I love those days, nobody is out, and the fish are more active. The rain drops on the water and overcast days allow the fish to roam more freely. Just like a small breeze
Its cool man. Both of the pics are friends of mine. They are pretty skinny guys. I noticed most pics I see of fish are really close to the camera, so they seem bigger than they really are. I dont try to make them look big, I just take the pics. We weigh everything we catch, except the small ones. One of our scales is certified for tourneys by a local bass club, so at least we know 1 is on point.

Nice fish, just wondering if they were really that heavy though.

Really??
Well, Ive never been asked that before. They were both weighed twice, just after the catch, and when we got back to camp, and on 2 different scales. The hatchery at this place doesnt realese the fish until they are 22in long, so there is no small fish, well, not really. They also told us there were some caught in the teens a couple weeks before we got there.
Most trout caught were aboot 4 lbs.Backwards, top on is 7lb+, bottom was 6.9.
Top caught on a LuckyCraft Pointer, yes a bass lure.
Bottom caught on black rooster tail on ultra lite setup.I grew up in Madera fishing mainly Eastman and Hensley. Big big bass in Eastman
Im going to Barclay today to try the inlet. Anybody going up anytime soon to the higher lakes? I got an itch to go!!!!
I just wanna get out there. Bassin sucks right now, and I dont like catching farm raised. Some bluegill would be nice though
where is this dusty lake?
I think your right. He was kinda red colored.
I did have one on for aboot 2 seconds. He wasnt big, but I did watch him hit my fly. I was hoping to get up in the mountains, but Ill have to settle for bass fishin, not like thats a bad thing
Well, I went ahead and sprained my ankle over on the Snohomish River goin for those salmon. Ruins my weekend and didnt even catch one. Maybe next weekend
Nope. Im not that easy
In point of fact, in addition to the monumental mislocation of Wicks Lake in Russian Wilderness, I know of at least three trailless trout-bearing lakes in the northern Sierra that were not shown on the 15′ series but are on the 7.5′–all in the same quad, no less. I admit in those three cases that I didn’t even know where these lakes were until I had the 7.5 in my hands (so they weren’t “secret” unlike Wicks, that I located by simply looking around and following my gut).
Ah, a Fresno man. I grew up in Madera fishing Eastman and Hensley Lakes. Good bass.
Anyways, I just got a GPS today. Im gonna start mapping my tracks when I get the software. If anybody wants to share some good tracks on email, I’m game, as I will share mine when I get them. Daniel
You told me and I went and bought them. Forgot the stimulaters though.
Ill give the Miller a try. I like creeks a lot. I usually do pretty well fishng rooster tails in the tight spots. -
