Anyone know where the snow pack is for elevation? I am going on a hike at the end of the month and one on the second weekend of July. I want to make sure I don’t run into any lakes that are frozen over. The lakes that I want to go to are around 4000ft to 4200ft.

The snow pack is making things tough this year. It’ll really depend on where the lakes you are heading to are, and what their exposure is. I expect some lakes at those elevations to be open, but others to still be frozen. One of the best places to get a feel for the snow pack is the fresh reports page on the WTA website.

Thanks, Both lakes have northern exposers and are not very big lakes either. That is my concern. I hope I don’t run into any snow.
