I just watched the Nordrum cabin DVD also. Do we know how long that project took? And is it still standing? I know we put a sign in book in it some years ago, but I don’t remember if the cabin has survived.

Pretty much for the last 15 years or so the social has been wrapping up about 10:00 or so. In the “old days” we’d go to 11:30 or so, but there were no kids around then. Now, lots of youngsters and we fold up earlier.

Big ones are great fish. Small ones are not worth anything, IMO. I’ve fished Hosmer and East Lakes in Oregon and most of the Atlantics are 10-12″. A rainbow of the same size is a much stronger fish. I caught an 18″ Atlantic on Hosmer once and it was not an inspiring fish. High lks here would likely not have enough groceries to do them justice.

Great report, Ken. I’ve always wanted to get to the Swallows. Been to the Thunder Mtn pots and Square and all the lakes around there, but never made it to the Swallow group. Maybe I can do a trip with you when you go back to check on your little babies. It’s the coolest thing to go to your first plant and find the fish doing well.

Ali – I have to say that I for one would miss hearing the minutes and reports from the committee chairs at the meetings. IMO 7:30-9:30 ish meetings are not too long at all. Sandy, Dave W, Brian… can attest to the fact that we often carry on the “meeting” for an hour or more after we ajourn. The HL do the meeting minutes that way (on line) and I don’t care for it. I think a large number of members don’t see them before the meeting and when asked if there are any corrections nothing is ever mentioned. I believe there will be more discussion of items in the reports from comm. chairs if it’s done live. That’s what gets ideas cooking for the club. My two bits.

I actually indented each paragraph when I wrote it so there was a little re-formatting done between my end and the forum.

It’s also clear that the percentage of lakes not done because the sponsor just didn’t get around to it is a larger number than you would have guessed. Not clear just what is the cause. Too many lakes for some folks? It would be interesting to see who did not do lakes. Is it among a few or a bunch who didn’t do one?

Great report, Dave. You failed to mention, I believe, that when Bob took you in he had a freshly rebuilt knee.
